Our default. Non-settling, non-flammable, easy to install to exact R-value. Best value for most homes.
Blown-in cellulose
Recycled paper treated for fire and pest resistance. Slightly higher R per inch. Great choice if you're environmentally conscious.
Batts (fiberglass or mineral wool)
For finished attic spaces, knee walls, or spot upgrades where blown-in isn't practical.

Does insulation attract pests?
Not the insulation itself. But existing gaps in your attic (soffit vents, plumbing penetrations) can let pests in. We check for and seal these during install.
Can I add new insulation over old?
Yes, in most cases — as long as the existing insulation is dry, uncontaminated, and evenly distributed. If it's water-damaged, rodent-affected, or heavily compressed, we remove and replace it.
Is there a tax credit for attic insulation?
The federal Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit currently covers 30% of qualifying insulation costs up to $1,200/year. Rules change; check current IRS guidance or ask your accountant.
